James Jones, who serves as the Phoenix Suns' president of basketball operations and general manager, feels settled and energized following a front office reshuffle by the franchise.

New team owner Mat Ishbia, who bought the team last December and took over in February, appointed Josh Bartelstein as the team's CEO, putting someone ahead of Jones in the organization chart for the first time in years.

Jones' future with the team was initially in doubt following Ishbia's acquisition, but it looks like he will remain in the team for the foreseeable future.

"Josh was hired as the CEO and I wanted him to come in and lead as the CEO. Mat became the owner and I was ready for him to come in and set the direction as owner. We had been in limbo for far too long," the 2011 NBA Three-Point Shootout champion said in an article by ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

Jones, who won three NBA championships during his playing career, was a major force in the decision to fire head coach Monty Williams following the team's second early postseason exit in a row via a blowout on their home floor.

Mat Ishbia determined to win now

The 43-year-old billionaire CEO of mortgage lending company United Wholesale Mortgage is determined to win at all costs as quickly as possible.

"I hope to win now, and then we'll do the work and figure out how to manage it later," the league's youngest controlling owner declared during an offseason meeting between team officials to strategize their moves.
