Defensive tackle Quinnen Williams has agreed on a lucrative four-year, $96 million contract, with $66 million in guaranteed money to stay with the New York Jets, according to insider Adam Schefter of ESPN.

"We are thrilled to secure Quinnen as a New York Jet for the foreseeable future, as he embodies everything we look for in our players," Jets general manager Joe Douglas said.

The NFL posted highlights of the defensive tackle on their Twitter page following the signing.

Williams made a career-high 12 sacks during the 2022 season, the most by a Jet in any position since 2015.

The rising 25-year-old star was also selected to play in the Pro Bowl, and he was named First-Team All-Pro after a sensational year.

"The success of this organization is beyond important to me and completing this deal allows me to turn all my attention to positively impacting that," the player said.

ESPN analyst Bill Barnwell noted that Williams makes everyone around him better, and the Jets turn from 31st to 1st in the league in sack rate with him on the field.

Williams was drafted by the Jets as the third overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, and he was previously on a four-year, $32.5 million contract.
