Beating Tom Brady in his first career start as a quarterback? First San Francisco 49ers rookie to win a playoff game as a starter?

You will see such accolades from the resume of young QB Brock Prudy, who is turning heads as he matures in the NFL.

Prudy started his professional career as a third-string quarterback and is now the team's starter.

This may be a rare development for some, but for his teammate Kyle Juszczyk, it is because Prudy had quarterbacking in his DNA since his amateur days.

The 31-year-old full-back believes the youngster's time in Iowa has something to do with his rise.

"He was so well prepared that he didn't have to overthink things," Juszczyk said during an appearance at The Rich Eisen show.

"And he really just, he just ran the offense. He didn't try to do too much, he trusted in the playmakers that he had, he's got a plethora of weapons in our offense, and he didn't try to take on too much... It sounds so simple, but it's so much harder to do than just say it."

Purdy's recovery

Purdy may have impressed a lot last season, but he has more work to do this offseason as he is recovering from his elbow injury.

NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported last week that Purdy was on his way to Jacksonville to do some throwing with QB coach Will Hewlett under the supervision of orthopedic specialist Tom Gormely.

Before that, he had a throwing session with general manager John Lynch who said his first session was encouraging.

"He's hitting all his markers and it doesn't surprise us, because he's putting in the work," Lynch said.
