The surefire number 1 overall pick in tomorrow's NBA Draft, Victor Wembanyama, is from Europe. The French prospect shared why players from his continent succeed in the world's premier basketball league.

The 7-foot-4 unicorn has a variety of reasons why Europeans and foreign players are coming up on top of the NBA.

"We play at a higher level than American prospects and better competitions," Wembanyama said.

Wembanyama, alongside top European players in the NBA today, such as Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Luka Doncic, have all played professionally in Europe before stepping on an NBA court.

The French unicorn added that it makes sense that the players that are coming up on top are the ones who are getting the best out of both worlds, playing in a professional setting at a young age to hone their skills further.

He finds it comforting that many Europeans are playing well in the NBA, which is a good sign for him.

The best Players in the League Today are Foreigners

Foreign players have taken over the league by storm.

Reigning Finals MVP Nikola Jokic, 2021 Finals MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, and four-time All-NBA First Team member Luka Doncic, who are all Europeans, are some of the best players in the league.

Incumbent MVP Joel Embiid is from Cameroon and holds French citizenship. It has been half a decade since an American won the MVP award with James Harden in 2018.
