Aside from NBA teams drooling over Victor Wembanyama, brands are also keen to be associated with the most-hyped basketball prospect in two decades.

Unless something drastic happens, the San Antonio Spurs will select the French prodigy as the first overall pick.

Sportswear giant Nike did not waste time locking Wembanyama into an endorsement deal. Footwear industry insider Nike DePaula confirmed that the Beaverton-based company has officially signed Wemby, which will see the 7-foot-4 center rock the Swoosh logo on his feet for the first few years of his NBA career.

Nike initially signed Wemby during his pro career in France, starting in 2019. The multi-year apparel and footwear deal will carry over into the NBA. He wore custom size 20.5 pairs of the Nike Zoom GT Run during the past LNB Pro A season with the Metropolitans 92.

How Much Will Nike Pay For Wembanyama Endorsement?

Unsurprisingly, LeBron James holds the rookie record for the largest shoe deal in NBA history when Nike handed him a seven-year, $90 million contract before he even played his first NBA game in 2003.

Zion Williamson received the second-largest rookie shoe contract just four years ago when he signed a seven-year deal valued at $75 million with the Jordan Brand, which Nike also owns.

Former Nike executive Sonny Vaccaro, who signed Michael Jordan to the brand, mentioned to TMZ Sports last year he expected Wembanyama to receive a "blank check."

While the details of his Nike contract have not been publicized yet, Wembanyama is tipped to receive $100 million to wear the sportswear giant's products on-and-off the court.
