David Beckham, as part owner of Inter Miami, gained a superstar in Lionel Messi for the next season, but matches will be extra different for him as his son Romeo decided to join Brentford B on a permanent deal.

The 20-year-old Romeo signed with the reserve team of the Premier League club, with whom he spent a season on loan.

The new deal has Brentford B coach Neil MacFarlane feeling ecstatic.

"We added Romeo to our squad in January, and he's been fantastic for the group," the manager said on the club website.

"He's had a terrific end to the season in terms of his recent match against Manchester City where he showed what he's learned during his loan with us. We've continued to develop him in and out of possession and we look forward to him coming back in good spirits to continue working with him next season."

Carving His Own Path

While many think it would've been best for the younger Beckham to stay in the American club, it seems he is trying to start a career away from the spotlight of his father and Inter Miami's prized acquisition Messi. After all, he and the Argentine superstar both play the forward position.

The 20-year-old hope to continue his progress in one of the world's strongest football competitions and eventually crack manager Thomas Frank's first team.

Romeo is also excited about this development.

"It's been such a good experienced and [I have] loved every second of it," he said when asked about his first stint at Brentford.

"It's a good group of boys, good coaches, it's a nice place to be."
