The United States men's soccer team has retained the CONCACAF Nations League title, comfortably beating northern neighbors Canada 2-0 in the final held at the Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, on Sunday.

Crystal Palace center-back Chris Richards opened the scoring for the hosts, scoring a header off a corner kick in the 11th minute.

Arsenal striker Folarin Balugon doubled USA's lead with a right-footed strike in the 33rd minute of his second appearance for the country.

The United States remains the only team to win the CONCACAF Nations League, previously beating Mexico in the final of the tournament's inaugural edition in extra time, thanks to a penalty by Chelsea star Christian Pulisic in the 114th minute.

Stunning Form For USA in CONCACAF Tournaments

The United States is amid a hot streak in CONCACAF-sanctioned events, winning three successive tournaments organized by the governing body of football in North America, Central America, and the Caribbean.

After winning the inaugural CONCACAF Nations League in 2021, the team also won the Gold Cup in the same year.

The team eagerly awaits the return of rehired manager Gregg Berhalter, who led them to two trophies since his arrival in 2019. Berhalter's contract was not renewed after it expired at the end of 2022, following the reveal of a past domestic abuse incident to his then-future wife in 1991.

The disgraced coach deeply apologized and made no excuse for his past behavior.

The U.S. Soccer Federation concluded that there was no legal impediment to employing Berhalter, ultimately announcing his return as USA manager last Friday.
