Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante is set to move to Saudi Pro League's Al-Ittihad, teaming up with former Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema for the Jeddah-based club.

Kante is the third big name to move to the Gulf in the past year, after Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Saudi Arabian delegates are currently in London for the contract signing, with the deal worth $106 million per season until 2025.

Two Saudi Clubs Initially Interested in N'Golo Kante

Romano's initial report stated that besides Al-Ittihad, Riyadh-based Al-Nassr was also interested in Kante. Al-Nassr boasts Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo on its roster.

Kante always wanted to prioritize a renewal with his current club Chelsea, but talks have stalled following the English club's blockbuster acquisition of a new midfielder in recent World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez.

The 32-year-old French national was part of the historic 2015-16 Leicester City team that miraculously won the Premier League in one of the greatest sporting shocks in history.

He moved to Chelsea in 2016 and helped the club win the UEFA Champions League in 2021. For his contributions to Chelsea's European title run, he was named the UEFA Men's Midfielder of the Year in 2021.

Kante is rated as one of the best midfielders in the world, known for his immense work rate and defensive acumen.
