Ben Simmons, the former first-overall pick of the Philadelphia 76ers, is not playing basketball. The same is true of his former team after the Celtics defeated the Sixers.
Simmons watched from home and shared an image on Instagram showing the final score. Even though he didn't verbally express anything, the surrounding circumstances made his thoughts or intentions seemingly obvious. He seemed to enjoy that his former team had lost as he sat comfortably on his couch, wrapped in a blanket with a glass of wine in his hand.
This loss marked the sixth time in six years that the 76ers failed to reach the conference finals, and it was their third Game 7 loss in the last five years.

Ben Simmons' Poor Performance
Simmons was criticized for his poor performance in the team's last Game 7 loss to the Atlanta Hawks in the 2021 conference semifinals. Following the loss, he was called out by Joel Embiid and Doc Rivers and was eventually traded to the Brooklyn Nets without playing another game for Philadelphia.
Since then, Simmons has played in only 33 NBA games and struggled to find a defined role, going from a one-of-a-kind talent to an ineffective ex-All-Star.
James Harden, Embiid, and their teammates have not seen any success since Simmons left, as they have been eliminated in the second round of the playoffs for two straight years.
Although Simmons has experienced significant disappointment in his NBA career, he appears to relish the misfortune of his former team. As the saying goes - misery loves company.
