The New Orleans Saints dropped out of the playoff picture in Week 13, losing by 10 points to the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night Football. This coming Sunday, the Saints will look to end their five-game losing skid when they travel to New Jersey to face the New York Jets. Alvin Kamara is returning for the Saints, providing a major boost to New Orleans. Here's a breakdown of the Saints vs Jets matchup.

New Orleans Saints installed as -5.5 favorites

New Orleans' losing woes show no sign of ending as the Saints crashed to their fifth consecutive defeat with a 27-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night Football. Taysom Hill struggled in his first start for the Saints this season, throwing four interceptions in the loss to the Cowboys.

To make matters worse for Hill and the Saints, he suffered an injury in his middle finger in Week 13. Hill's mallet finger is the same injury Russell Wilson faced earlier this season that required surgery. Hill is not going that route just yet, telling reporters that he will play on Sunday against the Jets.

Hill was seen wearing a splint on his injured finger during Wednesday's practice, where he was a full participant. Hill's passing might be limited against New York because of the injury, but he will still be a significant threat for New Orleans on the ground in Week 14. He ran for 101 yards on 11 carries against Dallas.

New York Jets enter Week 14 as +5.5 underdogs

The New York Jets returned to their losing ways in Week 13, absorbing a 33-18 defeat at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles. It was disappointing for the Jets, who have now lost nine of their first 12 games this season. They trail the New England Patriots by 5.5 games in the AFC East standings.

The Jets will look to return to the win column in Week 14 when they host the reeling New Orleans Saints at MetLife Stadium. The Saints are in unfamiliar territory as they have lost five games in a row for the first time in the Sean Payton era. The last time New Orleans had a five-game losing skid was back in 2005 when the Saints lost six straight games during the tenure of Jim Haslett.

It is a must-win ballgame for the Jets, who are moving closer toward an 11th consecutive season without a playoff stint. That will be the longest postseason drought in the NFL. For the Jets to keep their flickering playoff hopes alive, they will need to get excellent performance from Zach Wilson.

He completed 23 of 38 passes for 226 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in the loss to the Eagles. Wilson was superb in the opening half of that contest, going 12 of 14 for 108 yards and a couple of touchdowns. He also had a scoring run during that period.
