Two teams at opposite ends of the spectrum will face off this coming Sunday in Seattle. The San Francisco 49ers are right back in the playoff picture with a 6-5 slate, while the Seattle Seahawks are in the bottom of the NFC West division with a woeful 3-8 record. Can San Francisco cover the spread in this 49ers vs Seahawks clash?

San Francisco 49ers enter Week 13 as -2.5 favorites

The San Francisco 49ers extended their winning streak to three games with a 34-26 victory over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 12. It was an important win for the 49ers, who moved into sixth place in the NFC with a 6-5 record. A wildcard spot is the main goal for the Niners as they already trail the Arizona Cardinals by three games in the NFC West standings.

San Francisco once again relied on its vaunted running game to grab the win against Minnesota. The 49ers racked up 208 yards rushing on 39 carries, with three touchdowns on the ground. The bulk of those came from Elijah Mitchell, who ran for 133 yards and a score on 27 carries.

The victory came at a considerable price for the 49ers, with wide receiver Deebo Samuel and linebacker Fred Warner set to miss the next one to two weeks after suffering groin and hamstring strains, respectively, in Week 12.

Samuel had a massive game against the Vikings, running for 66 yards and a couple of touchdowns on six carries. Samuel made history with that performance as he became the first receiver since the merger to run for five touchdowns in a single season.

Seattle Seahawks installed as +2.5 underdogs

Seattle's losing woes show no sign of abating as the Seahawks crashed to their third consecutive defeat with a narrow 17-15 loss to the Washington Football Team in Week 12. The Seahawks were dominated in this matchup, recording just 10 first downs compared to Washington's 27. Washington also had a huge advantage in possession, controlling the football for 41 minutes and 40 seconds.

It was a disappointing defeat for the Seahawks, who are now 0-3 since Russell Wilson returned from a finger injury. It is the first time in Wilson's NFL career as the Seahawks' starting quarterback that he has lost three consecutive games.

Wilson completed 20 of 31 passes for 247 yards against Washington. The good news for Seattle is that he finally found the end zone in this contest, throwing two touchdown passes. What became problematic for Seattle on Monday night was its running game. They were outrushed 152-34 by Washington, leading to the big disparity in time of possession.

The Seahawks will look for a much better result in Week 13 against the 49ers. They have fared extremely well against the Niners of late, winning their last three meetings. It is now a must-win ballgame for the Seahawks, who are languishing at the bottom of the NFC West standings with a 3-8 record.
