The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs are now one step away from the most elusive Super Bowl crown.

Brady and Bucs versus Mahomes and Chiefs

On Sunday, the Buccaneers held a tight position in the NFC Championship but still managed to extinguish Aaron Rodgers-led Green Bay Packers, 31-26. Tom Brady will mark his 10th appearance in the Super Bowl following the win. On the other hand, his co-veteran quarterback Rodgers spelled uncertainty after the Green Bay squad failed to redeem themselves in the Super Bowl limelight, the Bleacher Report reported.

With the Buccaneers coming out as the first team that will head to the championship, it is now up to the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills to dictate who is the next team in line. Later, the Chiefs punctuated the AFC championship after overcoming a 38-24 victory over the Bills. Brady is now sure this time that Patrick Mahomes will spar against him at the Raymond James Stadium.

The Chiefs are now on their second consecutive Super Bowl appearance. Last year, Kansas thumped the San Francisco 49ers to bag the Super Bowl LIV trophy. Could they make two straight titles this time?

If the Chiefs can survive the on-field surge of the Bucs, they will be included in the exclusive club of the teams that won the Super Bowl for two consecutive years, as per The Ringer. These include the seven teams led by Packers (1966 & 1967), Miami Dolphins (1972 & 1973), Pittsburgh Steelers (1974 & 1975, 1978 & 1979), 49ers (1988 & 1989), Dallas Cowboys (1992 & 1993), Denver Broncos (1997 &1998) and New England Patriots (2003 & 2004).

The Buccaneers will host the Chiefs at their home stadium, making it the first time in history that the venue will happen on the competing team's stadium. The last time it happened was in 1966 when the Packers beat the Cleveland Browns in their home arena at the Lambeau Field.

With the win, the controversial debate involving Brady and Patriots' head coach Bill Belichick has ended. Brady has been the clear winner and the key to the Patriots' six Super Bowl titles. New England's mediocre 7-9 record this season proved a lot of truth.

Bucs coach Bruce Arians praised Brady's confidence to lead the team. He described the 43-year-old quarterback as a "consummate leader."

"I allow him to be himself. Like, New England didn't allow him to coach. I allow him to coach. I just sit back sometimes and watch," Arians said in an interview with Peter King at NBC Sports.

For the Chiefs, Mahomes knew already how it feels to be back as the Super Bowl Kings. Trailing 9-0 earlier, the Chief rallied a 21-point assault to nerf the whole Bills into a fallout. Mahomes' 71-yard pass to Tyreek Hill became the highlight of the come-from-behind play.

The Super Bowl 2019 MVP has been cleared from the concussion that he suffered from their last match against the Browns. His comeback spoke of hope and optimism to the Chiefs who were hungry for another title this season.

The long wait is over and it's still a few to go before we witness how the two NFL giants collide on February 7. It's only a matter of time after we determine who will be the Super Bowl kings for this pandemic-hit season.

Will Mahomes extend his NFL reign or will Brady seize a ring before he retires?
