The Alabama Crimson Tide made history on Monday night after clinching its 6th national title after demolishing Ohio State Buckeyes, 52-24, in the CFP Championship. This was Alabama's 6th national title under Nick Saban.

The Alabama Crimson Tide was too much for Ohio State.

Mr. Heisman 2020 DeVonta Smith paced the Crimson Tide with three touchdowns, as running back Najee Harris added another three for an impressive 600-yarder finish for Alabama over Ohio State Buckeyes, 52-24.

Alabama wins national championship

If there were the proudest person in the arena, it would be coach Nick Saban, who nurtured Alabama to its smooth-sailing 13-0 finish. For the Crimson Tide, Saban's biggest bragging right will be his sixth college football national title. All in all, this was now his seventh title after surpassing former Crimson Tide coach Bear Bryant for the all-time record, as per USA Today.

This also marked Saban's third title under the period of the College Football Playoff. That was when Alabama won the college football playoff championship in 2015, 2017, and 2020.

Now, Alabama is the winningest school when it comes to college football since the playoff era began. Next to Alabama, Clemson notched two championships, in 2016 and 2018.

"This is a team that was always together. Everybody bought into the principles and values of the organization and program, and they just did a great job. They played together. They supported each other. This is a great team," Saban said.

According to Yahoo! Sports, Mr. Heisman 2020 DeVonta Smith tanked Alabama with all-out offensive plays while recording 215 yards compared to Ohio State's 190. The star-studded wide receiver also outsmarted Buckeyes in points, 18-17, in the first two quarters.

Heisman awardee DeVonta Smith registered 12 catches for 215 yards before exiting the third quarter when an injured right-hand finger. The 22-year-old receiver headed to the locker room for evaluation but came back attire-less in the last quarter.

Besides Alabama, Saban had been LSU's head coach for their national championship stint in 2003. The 69-year-old guided the Crimson Tide since 2007 and shaped them to be future champions, which just happened recently.

"I really haven't thought about that because you're always looking forward. And I just love this team so much, what they've been able to do, I can't even put it into words," continued Saban, who had an all-time record of 164-23.

It might be a little quieter than the previous championship celebrations. According to ESPN, only 14,000 spectators witnessed Alabama's incomparable happiness as the confetti rained around them.

Jaylen Waddle and John Metchie took Smith's place during the substitution. Waddle caught three for 34 yards, while Metchie had eight catches for 81 yards. Mac Jones shocked the crowd with his All-Star performance last night, after scoring and completing 36-of-45 passing for 464 yards.

Jones deserved all the credit as a key game changer against the Buckeyes. He was hailed the top quarterback after finishing with 41 touchdown passes this season and was awarded the Davey O'Brien Award.

Justin Fields of Ohio State cooled down with only a touchdown and 193-yard completion of 16-of-31 passing. His game did not even come close when Buckeyes faced Clemson in the Sugar Bowl.

What's next for Alabama?

The absence of Smith, Harris, Jones, Waddle, and Landon Dickerson, and Alex Leatherwood, the two offensive linemen, will welcome 2021.

Bryce Young is reported to be the replacement for Jones in the quarterback position. Metchie will continue with the Crimson Tide together with Xavier Williams and Jahleel Billingsley.
