The Pittsburgh Steelers are still stuck in the quicksand as they continue to wait to be saved.
Following a frustrating 26-15 loss against the Buffalo Bills, the Pittsburgh Steelers dug themselves deeper into the quicksand as they bowed to Cincinnati Bengals in a lopsided 27-17 defeat, marking their third straight loss.
The Pittsburgh Steelers' staggering loss can be traced back to how Ben Roethlisberger handed the team a letdown. The quarterback's late passes failed to tow the team into much-needed wins.
Big Ben accomplished 20 passes out of 38 within 170 yards, coupled with an interception and a touchdown. In the first half, he had seven passes out of 16 for 19 yards, together with an interception.
The grave offense of the Steelers crawled under their skin. Steelers' tight end Eric Ebron and fullback Derek Watt suffered injuries in the first half. From then on, the two players were sidelined as they watched how the lackluster Bengals drilled their team.
Watt was diagnosed with a concussion after a strong collision in the first quarter. He remained on the field, hoping he can go back before he was instructed to go to the locker room for further evaluation.
Ebron challenged a pass from a Bengal quarterback, but he ended up getting injured in the back. Moments later, he also went to the locker room and missed the game that handed them their third-straight loss.

Running back Giovanni Bernard collected 97 yards and two touchdowns.
Down the stretch, the Steelers could have eked out the lead on their advantage with two minutes left in the game. The 24-yard pass might not be in their favor, as Roethlisberger flung the ball carelessly on third-and-10.
Roethlisberger had to pull another crucial pass, but this time, the 38-year-old veteran tossed the target to James Washington on the sudden death fourth down.
The Cincinnati Bengals may look tired after Darius Philips escaped an accidental pass interference, but this zipped the lead in a force-stopping fashion for the orange team.
The Pittsburgh Steelers fell on deep distraction, and fans questioned if Roethlisberger would stay for another year in the league. His play could be noticeable, as his poor executions cost the team a lot of passes-turned-into errors.
The Michael Tomlin-led team is in hot water now, and their record spoke huge volumes of disappointment. The Steelers were once an unblemished team after they manhandled their Baltimore Ravens for their 11-0 record.
No one expected the turn of events for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Cleveland Browns, the team that currently sits at 10-4 in the AFC North, could pull them down from the frontline.
The Bengals crushed the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are now at third place in the AFC with an 11-3 record.
The Bengals, who have the worst record in AFC North, now tote a 3-10-1 card.
The Pittsburgh Steelers previously lost to the Buffalo Bills. Their next games against the Indiana Colts and Cleveland Browns are predicted to be a repeating scene in transition.
Meanwhile, Mark Madden criticized the Pittsburgh Steelers' leadership.
"If the Steelers lose out and lose their first playoff game, they should fire Tomlin and Ben should quit. Because if they lose out, their version of this team is over," Madden said during his Madden Monday podcast, the 'Monday Night Football.'
