Pepsi Ad Featuring Kendall Jenner Tagged Worst Ever Seen

The latest advertisement of Pepsi which shows Kendall Jenner leaving her modelling assignment and joining a protest created a furore over internet. The social media wasted no time in reacting to this and some of them even tagged the ad as the worst one they have ever seen.

The ad shows Kendall posing for a photoshoot when a protest passes by her. The protestors hold placards some of which read 'Join the conversation'. Seeing the protest, Jenner threw her wig off and joins the crowd merrily. The crowd which is made up of gay, black, Muslim and transgender people is shown in a scuffle with policemen. According to The Guardian, Pepsi said, the company want to spread the message of global unity.

Kendall is next shown holding a can of Pepsi and moving towards a policeman. She then pass this can to the policeman who takes a sip from it and smiles. It seems that just a sip of Pepsi makes the atmosphere tranquil. The social media erupted and slammed Pepsi stating that the ad wants to convey that the brutal action of police authority can be just done away with a sip from a Pepsi can.

Howver, after the whole row regarding this ad, Pepsi released an official statement. "The creative showcases a moment of unity, and a point where multiple storylines converge in the final advert. It depicts various groups of people embracing a spontaneous moment, and showcasing Pepsi's brand rallying cry to 'Live For Now,' in an exploration of what that truly means to live life unbounded, unfiltered and uninhibited," the statement reads.

People called the ad being in 'bad taste'. Some believed that it was inspired by the 'Black Lives Matter' movement, started in 2013 against police killings of black people. Bernice King, daughter of Martin Luther King Jr, also slammed the ad on Twitter.
