Will Muschamp Hot Seat? Florida Gators Coach Has Backing Of Athletic Director Jeremy Foley? [VIDEO]

Florida Athletic Director Jeremy Foley is standing by embattled football coach Will Muschamp as cries for his ouster continue to mount.

Following Saturday's stunning 26-20 home loss to Georgia Southern, an overall 4-7 start and no bowl game for the first time since 1990, Foley told Sports Illustrated he plans to stick with Muschamp for at least one more season.

"I'm a thousand percent convinced that Will Muschamp is the guy to lead this football program," Foley told SI after the Gators 34-17 loss to Vanderbilt in Gainesville on Nov. 9. Even in the wake of Saturday's debacle his stance doesn't appear to have changed much.

Still, the pressure is clearly on in Gainesville, where despite the team finishing 11-2 last season and Muschamp being named SEC coach of the year, one staffer tells SI this of this season "it's not a crisis, it's a nuclear meltdown."

Compromising Muschamp's best laid plans and perhaps earning him a reprieve from Foley seems the fact that at least eight players listed as preseason starters, including quarterback Jeff Driskel and defensive tackle Dominique Easley, have been lost to injury.

The Gators finish the season by hosting state-rival and No.2 ranked Florida State and Jameis Winston.
