'Death Stranding' News: 'La La Land' Actress Emma Stone To Play The Female Lead? Mads Mikkelsen Responds

Hideo Kojima is known to surround his upcoming games with rumors which allow fans to speculate. Such is the case with Hideo Kojima's game "Death Stranding" which from the trailer shows the famed game designer's themes of mystery and intrigue. One of the rumors surrounding "Death Stranding" suggests that Academy Award-winning best actress Emma Stone is set to play the lead female role of the game.

Mads Mikkelsen, known for his roles in "Hannibal," "Star Wars: Rogue One" and "Doctor Strange" was revealed to play as the main villain for "Death Stranding." In a recent Comic-con event, the actor was asked about the rumors of "La La Land" actress Emma Stone's role in "Death Stranding."

As expected, Mads Mikkelsen declined to give any information regarding Emma Stone's role in "Death Stranding." The actor explains that he can't talk about the rumor but did say that he likes the rumor calling it lovely. His excitement as shown on the 22-minute mark of the video had fans of "Death Stranding" feeling excited about the possible scenario.

The rumor of Emma Stone joining "Death Stranding" started in December when Hideo Kojima suggested on Twitter that he met with Emma Stone who he the game developer claims he is in love with for 10 years. Then on February, Kojima posted a picture on Twitter that appears to be a female mannequin wearing a beanie from Lionsgate. Lionsgate is the entertainment company that owns Summit Media which in turn produced Emma Stone's movie "La La Land."

Kojima is known to give cryptic messages for his fans to speculate. But with the recent clues and Kojima's admiration for Emma Stone, it wouldn't be surprising to see the actress play a part on "Death Stranding."

Mads Mikkelsen isn't the only Hollywood actor playing a role in "Death Stranding" as Norman Reedus and Guillermo del Toro are featured in the trailers. Both of which were actually supposed to work with Hideo Kojima's "Silent Hills" that was cancelled by Konami.

Then again, there aren't any official announcement from Emma Stone or Hideo Kojima regarding the actresses' role in "Death Stranding" For now all we can do is wait and speculate.
