NBA Update: Carmelo Anthony Suggests He Might Waive No Trade Clause At New York Knicks

The last time Carmelo Anthony's news came up in NBA trade, he had met with Phil Jackson and told him specifically that he did not want to be traded from New York Knicks.

That word allowed the Knicks to approach the Cavaliers about a deal for Kevin Love and were politely (sarcastically) rejected. Right so Melo wanted to stay, Knicks can't find a place for him to go.

But reporters talked to the player after defeat of Knicks at the hands of ordinary Mavericks. Now, he says that he mean, if they want to go in a different direction, that's something that he would have to consider.

All the talk that's going on right now, that's out of his own personal control. Nobody called him for the matter. Nobody got in contact with any of his representations or anything like that, so it's something that he doesn't need to worry about.

So, the breakdown of the story is quite peculiar, Melo and Knicks are trapped in that kind of situation where neither of them wants to make the trade but also don't want be the decision-maker of not going away from the team. Anthony clearly wants the Knicks to say, "We want you out." The Knicks don't want to say, "We want you out." They want him to say, "I want out."

Anthony literally says these things are not under his control, he has a no-trade clause to boast. But, if we look at the no-clause that he has, it makes him the boss of the trade situation. If he says, "Hey, I waive my no-trade clause, I want out," then the Knicks can at least look to pursue a deal of some sorts.

Getting this one done is tough, because the team management seem genuinely not to to send him somewhere he doesn't want to go, on the other hand, Melo wants to go only to contending teams in major cities or Cleveland.

So this deal never really kicks off and for the billionth time, we are discussing about this, maybe this time it can all come together. We can only hope.
