Apple Banned 'Finder For Airpods', App Removed From App Store

A new app "Finder for AirPods", that helped people find a lost AirPod ear pieces, has been banned by Apple.

Last week, mobile app developer studio Deucks Pty released the app called "Finder for Airpods," used the iPhone to track the bluetooth signal by the two AirPod units to help locate the lost piece, as per Fortune reports.

Apple had launched AirPods along with the iPhone 7 in September 7, 2016 as a replacement for earphones that require a headphone jack. The Apple AirPods let you access the digital assistant Siri with just a double tap by allowing users to select and control music, get directions, make and receive calls or perform any other task in Siri.

On Monday, the app "Finder for Airpods" had been vanished from the Apple App Store-Raajit Sharm at Deucks Pty says it's not coming back. Apple determined that the concept of people finding their AirPods with the app was deemed not appropriate for the App Store, the app will not return back.

The first thing one can realize about Apple's AirPod is how easily one can lose them. Apple may call it a design evolution, but all that we can see is its resemblance to the ear-pods, sans wires. In the past, the company has also removed many other apps from the App Store for different reasons, ranging from the inappropriate content to improper use of the iPhone's hardware.

When the company unveiled its new iPhone 7, the tech giant had announced the $159 AirPods back in September 7, 2016. But the high-tech wireless earphones didn't go on sale until December, when they quickly sold out ahead of the holidays, according to the Quint.

Apple says a single lost AirPod earpiece will cost $69. Has Apple's money-making move led to the downfall of "Finder for AirPods"?
