Johnny Manziel Contract Rumors: Former QB Still Rooting For The Browns, 'I Wish Them The Best' [VIDEO]

If Johnny Manziel is ever set to become Johnny Football again, it won't be in Cleveland.

The Browns cut the party boy former quarterback in March amid a downward spiral. Manziel was in the midst of a serious battle with a drinking problem when the team parted ways with him. Rumors also surfaced that he was doing drugs.

The former Heisman Trophy winner has vowed he is serious about a return to the league, but has also been seen partying on several occasions.

Manziel said even though he's no longer a member of the Browns and doesn't foresee ever having an opportunity to return, he's still rooting for them.

"I doubt that'll happen," Manziel told TMZ Sports about a return to the Browns. "I wish them the best."

The Browns can use all the help they can get. Cleveland is 0-2 to start the season and lost to Baltimore, 25-20, on Sunday. Manziel's successor, former Offensive Rookie of the Year Robert Griffin III, is sidelined 10-12 weeks with a shoulder injury, adding to the issues.

Manziel, 23, has had several issues staying away from the party scene over the past year. He was also indicted by a Dallas jury for a domestic incident with his ex-girlfriend, model Colleen Crowley, earlier this year.

Despite his many issues, Manziel had been adamant that he planned on staying sober to pursue a return to the NFL.

Nevertheless, a friend recently admitted that Manziel acknowledged he hit "rock bottom," but he isn't doing much to turn things around.

The former quarterback recently returned to Texas A&M to continue his pursuit of a degree. Whether an NFL return is in the cards down the line remains to be seen.
