With SummerSlam now over, the WWE shifts its focus to the brand-only pay-per-views and WWE Network specials.
The "SmackDown Live" brand gets the first chance to put itself on the map when it presents Backlash live from the Richmond Coliseum in Virginia on Sept. 11.
Three matches have already been announced for the show as commissioner Shane McMahon and general manager Daniel Bryan will surely be on-hand to make sure all goes well.
While this event will be big for the roster as a whole, it is even more vital for certain Superstars over others. Here are three stars who are poised for big nights at Backlash.
1) American Alpha
Though they still have to win another round to even get to Backlash, Chad Gable and Jason Jordan appear primed to at least make it to the finals of the tournament where new Tag Team Champions will be crowned. The mega push for the former NXT Tag Team Champions is in full force and likely to continue into Backlash.
American Alpha already defeated Breezango, and they'll next look to take out The Usos in the semifinals. The smart money is on Gable and Jordan at least making it to the finals where Backlash will give them some major exposure on the main roster.
2) Becky Lynch
The "Lass Kicker" has been lost in the shuffle for most of her run on the main roster, and that comes despite the fact that she helped steal the show at WrestleMania 32 with Charlotte and Sasha Banks. Lynch has a great personality, is a strong presence among the fans and is fantastic in the ring, so hopefully she'll get a chance to stand out on the Blue Brand.
Lynch will face Carmella, Naomi, Natalya, Nikki Bella and Alexa Bliss in a Six Pack Challenge to determine the new "SmackDown Live" Women's Champion. While she may not win -- that victory may go to the returning Bella -- she may at least have her chance to breakout at Backlash, hopefully leading to a feud between her and the victor.
3) AJ Styles
There's not much more that can be said about the "Phenomenal One." Styles has just been an amazing edition to the WWE roster and he seemingly could have a great match with someone the company pulled off the street. Styles is one of the best in-ring workers and finally has made the heel turn work for him as of late.
His matches with Chris Jericho and Roman Reigns were amazing, but he took it to another level with John Cena at SummerSlam last Sunday. Styles probably should go over Ambrose for the WWE Championship at Backlash, but even if he doesn't, he'll likely be the star of the night for yet another major event.
