Ryan Lochte and three other Olympic swimmers were spotted at the club mere hours before the bathroom incident heard 'round the world.
Footage has surfaced of Lochte and fellow U.S. swimmers James Feigen, Gunnar Bentz and Jack Conger arriving to a club in Brazil at 1:47 a.m.
The group left the club at 5:47 a.m., but there were no girls with them despite police claiming two female witnesses of the gas station incident were in their group, according to TMZ Sports.
Lochte claimed the four swimmers were robbed and gunpoint and he even went as far as to say one of the gunmen placed their weapon to his head and stole his wallet after he refused to join the rest of his swimmers on the ground.
Days later, footage from a gas station showed a much different story. After Lochte and Co. couldn't get into a gas station bathroom, one of them knocked the door down, leading to an altercation with security and the gas station's manager.
There were also reports that the group urinated all over the place.
Lochte stuck with his robbery story, though he changed many facets of it around. He even went as far as to tell his mother the fabricated robbery story.
Federal cops are recommending indictment for Lochte and Feigen due to the swimmers filing a false police report, according to ABC News.
Lochte has maintained that the story is true as they were confronted by men when they were in a cab and at the time believed they were Brazilian police. The people close to him have also claimed there is a three-minute time lapse in the video.
That lapse of time could be when a gun was pulled. Armed security reportedly took their money as well. If convicted of filing a false police report, it's punishable by up to six months in jail.
Lochte and Feigen returned to the United States, but the latter had to pony up some serious money. Feigen paid $10,800 to a Brazilian charity called the Reaction Institute in order for Brazilian officials to let him go, according to TMZ Sports.
In return, the swimmer won't be charged for filing a false police report.
The layers of this story are seemingly never-ending.
