Summer Olympics 2016 Schedule & Events: Key Events, Live Stream For The Weekend In Rio De Janeiro [VIDEO]

The Opening Ceremonies of the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro are slated for Friday.

After the lighting of the torch, a full weekend slate of activities will be ushered in as athletes from all over the world compete for national pride and aim to take home the gold in various sports.

Here are the scheduled major events for the Olympics along with where they can be watched.

Friday Aug. 5

The opening ceremonies will take place at 7 p.m. ET and can be live streamed here.

Saturday Aug. 6

The major events for Saturday include fencing, swimming, volleyball, cycling, men's gymnastics, women's basketball, rugby, water polo, boxing, archery and handball.

Featured Events: The featured events for Saturday include the men's 400m individual medley (12:02 p.m. ET), women's 100m butterfly (12:28 p.m. ET), men's 400m freestyle (12:48 p.m. ET), women's 400m individual medley (1:32 p.m. ET), women's soccer (starting at 2 p.m. ET) and women's basketball (starting at 4:30 p.m. ET).

Sunday Aug. 7

Sunday is full of events as many sports will be contested, starting with men's singles rowing at 7:30 a.m. ET and ending with men's 4x100m freestyle relay swimming at 10:54 p.m. ET.
