WWE 'Battleground' 2016 Rumors: 3 Potential Partners For Sasha Banks [VIDEO]

Sasha Banks will get some help at Battleground.

It was revealed this week on "SmackDown" that "The Boss" will team up with a mystery partner to battle WWE Women's Champion Charlotte and Dana Brooke in a women's tag team match. at Battleground on July 24 at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.

It's likely this will be the moment where Banks' rocket push really starts, leading into an eventual clash for the gold with Charlotte at SummerSlam on Aug. 21 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Here are three possible partners for Banks at Battleground.

1) Bayley

The former NXT Women's Champion is the most logical partner heading into the event. Bayley is likely to get called up for next Tuesday's WWE Draft and from there she could easily form a partnership with Banks. The two ladies had a notable rivalry back in NXT, but eventually became partners and anyone who follows them on social media knows they have a very tight friendship. The WWE can smoothly transition Bayley to the main roster by pairing her up with Banks heading into the battle with Brooke and Charlotte.

2) Paige

When Banks first came back into the WWE fold, it was to help Paige fend off Brooke and Charlotte. It would make sense for the WWE to expand on that storyline by having the Norwich, England native join forces with "The Boss." Paige has a couple of non-title victories over Charlotte, so she's certainly worthy of a crack at her, and she and Banks would make a formidable team in the division.

3) Nikki Bella

This is a long shot, but it's possible the WWE pulls out a huge surprise. The longest-reigning Divas Champion in WWE history has been sidelined since October with a neck injury, which she underwent surgery on in January. Bella has teased a return this summer, but she may not be cleared in time for Battleground. Still, if she somehow can give it a go, it would certainly make sense for her to go after Charlotte since that's who she lost her title to in the first place.
