Bill Goldberg WWE Return Rumors 2016: Brock Lesnar Rematch Weighs On WWE Star's Mind Every Day [VIDEO]

Bill Goldberg wants Brock Lesnar to once again be the answer to "who's next?"

The former WCW and WWE World Heavyweight Champion went toe-to-toe with "The Beast" at WrestleMania XX back in 2004. The bout took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City and the big stage wasn't very kind to both athletes.

The WWE Universe realized that Goldberg was set to depart the company and also caught wind of Lesnar's plans to walk out on the organization to pursue a career in the NFL, which eventually landed him in the UFC.

After his disappearing act, Goldberg stayed away from the WWE and admitted in the past he wasn't very happy with the way things went down with the WWE. He then was inches away from returning to the fold when his negotations with Triple H hit a wall during WrestleMania XXX season back in 2014.

Now that Goldberg is back in the good graces of the WWE by partaking in the WWE 2K17 video game, many fans and pundits believe it's only a matter of time before he sets foot back in a WWE ring.

The former master of the 173-0 streak recently talked about his infamous match with Lesnar, during which the fans only cared about special guest referee "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Goldberg revealed he thinks about stepping back into the ring with Lesnar everyday.

"There hasn't been a day go by since he and I stepped out of that ring in Madison Square Garden I haven't wanted to hook up with him again," Goldberg told Roman Mahut about a potential rematch with Lesnar. "For sure."

The WWE has a golden opportunity to have these two cross paths again. Lesnar returned to the WWE in 2012 and has been a part-time performer ever since. The company is allowing him to return to UFC for a one-off fight with Mark Hunt at UFC 200 on July 9 in a cross-promotion.

Lesnar needs an opponent for SummerSlam on Aug. 21 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and Goldberg would certainly be a marquee name for him to face.

After their last encounter, both Superstars could use a chance at redemption against each other in the very same city their first match occurred 12 years ago.
