Two former Shield members will clash when Seth Rollins battles Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Money in the Bank.
"The Architect" will take on the leader of the Roman Empire for the belt he never lost on June 19 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Rollins had to forfeit the title back in November when he went down with a knee injury and Reigns has held it three times since then.
Here are five potential outcomes to Reigns vs. Rollins at Money in the Bank:
1) Reigns' Reign Continues
The WWE has refused to waver in its attempts to push Reigns and continuously tries get him over. It's possible that he will get a clean win over his former Hounds of Justice brethren and stay on top of the company. With Reigns only a couple of months into his latest run with the gold, he could keep it until at least SummerSlam.
2) Rollins Reigns
The Authority's former golden boy rose to the top of the WWE during Brock Lesnar's reign as part-time champion and then became the man at WrestleMania 31 in March 2015 by winning the title. "The Architect" put on great matches with just about everyone he went up against, showing he was a worthy choice of top dog. The WWE could once again instill its faith in Rollins by giving him another run with the belt.
3) Ambrose Asylum
One wild-card scenario could see the third former member of The Shield get involved in this match. The "Lunatic Fringe" has branched away from Reigns in recent months and hasn't feuded with Rollins in a while. It's possible Ambrose could help his buddy win or possibly even turn heel. He could also strike both men, necessitating a Triple Threat Match down the line, possibly at SummerSlam.
4) Money in the Bank
This match will likely take place following the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, so another potential swerve could see the WWE deviate from its usual drawn out storyline by having the winner of the Ladder Match cash in on the same night they won it. Thus far, Ambrose, Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens, Alberto Del Rio, Sami Zayn and Cesaro are booked for the bout, which has one slot open. Whichever star wins could cash-in the very same night.
5) Split Decision
It's possible that neither Rollins nor Reigns will emerge victorious. With the upcoming brand split, the WWE could book a false finish between the two or some sort of double pin, giving them both a claim to the title. As a way to get around it, the company could announce that both Reigns and Rollins are World Champions, putting one on "RAW" and one on "SmackDown" to represent their brand as champions.
