The Undertaker has had many memorable battles at WrestleMania over the years, and though The Streak is a thing of the past, "The Deadman" always brings it at the biggest show of the year.
Though there is a lot of speculation regarding 'Taker's future in the WWE following his WrestleMania 32 clash with Shane McMahon, it could possibly just be the same false rumors that pop up every year around this time.
Here are five potential opponents for The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33 next year if the retirement rumors are false. Sting would be an obvious choice, but the WWE missed the boat on that match due to "The Vigilante's" retirement.
1) John Cena
There were rumors that the "Cenation" leader was in line to face the "Demon from Death Valley" this year, but his real-life shoulder injury hindered the plans. It would only make sense for the WWE to put this bout on next year as one of wrestling's greatest legends would clash with the face of the franchise.
2) Bill Goldberg
Since a match with Sting, the face of WCW, isn't possible, The Undertaker could tangle with another big name star from Ted Turner's now-defunct organization. Goldberg's only match to date at the WWE's Super Bowl is his much-maligned battle with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XX, which was 12 years ago, so he's overdue for a return.
3) The Rock
With WrestleMania 33 taking place in Orlando, it would make sense for the Florida native "Brahma Bull" to have a high-profile match. While a clash with Triple H has been teased for The Rock in the past, The Rock vs. The Undertaker would be a true throwback to the Attitude Era and a way to honor both legends should it be their last matches.
4) 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin
If the "Texas Rattlesnake" is going to come back for one final match, it would have to be a big one. Austin has remained steadfast that he won't return to the ring, but perhaps a battle with one of the all-time greats would be the proper sendoff for him.
5) AJ Styles
Though this seems like a random matchup on paper, since The Undertaker can't go toe-to-toe with the face of WCW, why not the face of TNA? This would certainly be a clash of styles (no pun intended), but it would be an interesting marquee matchup for "The Phenomenal One."
