Phil Jackson: Lamar Odom Marrying Khloe Kardashian "Maybe Wasn't Good Idea" [VIDEO]

NBA legend Phil Jackson says he feels "maybe it wasn't" a good idea for troubled Lamar Odom to have become involved with the Kardashian family.

Jackson, who coached Odom to two titles while both were with the Los Angeles Lakers, told RadarOnline he was initially in favor of the move because "the arrangement or marriage" gave the NBA veteran "a family and a caring unit."

"As it turned out, maybe it wasn't," added Jackson, who reflected he and Lakers officials once feared Odom would go "off the edge during the summertime" when they were in L.A. together.

As he was being dogged this summer by reports of hardcore drug use and infidelity in his marriage to Khloe Kardashian, Jackson said several members of the Lakers organization tried reaching out to Odom, but each time were rebuffed in their efforts.

"No one can get through to Lamar, basically I think he's thrown his cell phone away," Jackson told Radar. "We're very concerned about it, but I hear things are looking up."

Odom now claims to be drug free and intent on resuming his NBA career. Several media outlets recently reported the free agent forward actually met with Laker officials not long ago about perhaps rejoining the team.
