Germany vs Italy: International Soccer Friendly Schedule, Live Stream, Roster Updates & Predictions

Germany will try to end their long drought against Italy when the defending world champions host the Azzurri at Allianz Arena in Munich.

Germany are currently on top of the world after winning the 2014 FIFA World Cup, but they have not performed well against Italy -- a drought that they will look to snap on Tuesday.

The German squad has not won against Italy since scoring a 2-0 victory in an international soccer friendly match in 1995. Italy defeated Germany in the final of the 1982 FIFA World Cup and disappointed the German home crowd during the semifinal of the 2006 World Cup in Dortmund.

But in order to finally score a win against Italy in 21 years, Germany have to rediscover their confidence after suffering a 3-2 loss to England on Saturday. Germany midfielder Sami Khedira said, though, that they are determined to silence their critics with a win against the Azzurri.

"It's good that we've had our eyes opened a bit," Khedira said via ESPN. "This is a game that we are desperate to win, and there are plenty of players who are really keen to prove themselves."

On the other hand, Italy will try to keep the Germans at bay on Tuesday. They are coming off an impressive performance against Spain during their friendly last week, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Germany vs Italy Roster Updates

Germany will play without Bayern Munich superstars Manuel Neuer and Thomas Muller, while Mario Gotze could start for the world champions. According to USA Today, Neuer is suffering from a stomach bug, which will give Bernd Leno, Kevin Trapp and Marc-Andre ter Stegen a chance to make an impact.

On the other hand, Football Italia reported that midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura will miss the friendly against Germany due to illness. Simone Zaza, Leonardo Bonucci and Gianluigi Buffon are expected to play on Tuesday.
