Philadelphia Eagles Rumors: Jeffrey Lurie As Much To Blame As Chip Kelly For 2015 [VIDEO]

Maybe Chip Kelly isn't the only one to blame for Philadelphia's fall from grace in 2015.

Just a year ago, owner Jeffrey Lurie handed the keys to the Philadelphia franchise to the enigmatic coach. When Lurie fired Kelly with one game left to go in the 2015 season, it's apparent that the Eagles didn't have a Plan B.

The Eagles have had to suspend their search for a director of personnel, likely until after the NFL Draft, according to Eagles Scouting Nest.

"The Eagles, who have no scouting chief after firing coach Chip Kelly and top personnel executive Ed Marynowitz, are looking for a high-ranking senior executive to lead the scouting department and determine the fate of current scouts, per sources, but they opened their search at a time when NFL teams are knee deep in the pre-draft process and would be reluctant to allow a top personnel executive to leave," Eagles Scouting Nest reported. "Teams don't normally allow an experienced, senior executive to walk out their doors about one month from free agency and less than three months from the draft."

Part of the reason the Eagles are stuck short-handed may have had something to do with the team's front office as much as it had to do with Kelly's personality, Eagles Scouting Nest suggested.

"Industry sources also believe Lurie and Roseman will face the same challenge of finding a qualified candidate as Kelly did last year in looking to replace vice president of player personnel Tom Gamble, who was fired right after the season.

"Several candidates turned down the chance to work under Kelly, who eventually promoted Marynowitz.

"Philadelphia will have to move forward with executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman and first-year head coach Doug Pederson."
