Australian Open Update: Caroline Wozniacki Hibernating After First Round Upset [VIDEO]

Maybe Caroline Wozniacki is preparing for a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue sequel. Because she's not doing much of anything else right now.

The current 18th-ranked player in the world, who is sure to drop in the WTA rankings, has gone silent since her first-round loss to Yulia Putintseva. She has not posted on her Twitter or Instagram accounts since her defeat.

Caroline Wozniacki Should Consider Retirement After First-Round Loss

The six days between tweets is a first for Wozniacki since mid-October.

The former No. 1 player had high hopes entering 2016, talking about trying to win multiple Grand Slams this year, as well as a gold medal in the upcoming Summer Olympics. But her early exit against the 76th-ranked Putintseva left a sour taste in Wozniacki's mouth.

"I would say it's a pretty sh---y start to the season. It wasn't a pretty first set but I got it done and really should have closed it off in two," Wozniacki said after blowing a 6-1, 4-2 advantage against Putintseva, according to The Sydney Morning Herald. "I let her back into the match and it was basically my own fault that I'm not here as the winner."

Wozniacki, who is likely to drop out of the top-20 after the Australian Open, admitted she didn't have any immediate answers about her game.

"I don't know. I haven't really gotten that far yet," Wozniacki said. "But I guess just go back on the practice court and that's really all you can do."

One of Wozniacki's last tweets, on Jan. 15, reminisced about her SI photo shoot that took place a little more than a year ago last year.

The Dane's popularity arguably was building to its peak.

A year later, it's anyone's guess as to what Wozniacki is doing -- whether it's using her early Australian Open exit as motivation or still sulking over her loss.
