UFC 197 News: Rafael dos Anjos Almost Loses It Against Conor McGregor [VIDEO]

UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos has always kept himself composed against anyone he would eventually get into the Octagon with. And somehow he managed to keep his cool despite the proverbial jabs thrown at him by his brash talking Irishman Conor McGregor.

The UFC recently held a news conference to formally announce UFC 197 which takes place on Mar. 5. And as expected, McGregor shot off his mouth and tried to get under dos Anjos nerves.

Known for his insults and high level of confidence, the gathering saw ‘The Notorious’ try to ease his way into the conversation even if it was the press and dos Anjos conversing.

Though his butt-ins were nothing new, dos Anjos lay composed though there were some tense moments where in he seemed to be ready to explode. But for some reason, he had the will power not to and give McGregor the advantage in the mind game department.

"I talk the truth. I don't trash talk, I talk the truth. March 5, I will send this guy back home sad and I'm going to keep my belt."

The insults went back and forth with McGregor going as far to say that he will “behead” dos Anjos and drag it along the streets of Rio de Janeiro.

“On March 5, I will behead Rafael dos Anjos,” McGregor said. “I will drag his head through the streets of Rio de Janeiro to a parade of people, I’d imagine. It will become a national holiday also, I would imagine,” says McGregor via Yahoo Sports.

On the other end, dos Anjos remained calm and preserved. As for his call, the champ says that he can finish off McGregor in the first round but prefers to drag him to the third or fourth to render more punishment.

"I'm going to have a chance to finish this fight in the first round but I won't," dos Anjos said. "I'm going to punish him all the way to the third or the fourth. I'm going to make him bleed. He's going to pay for everything he's talking about everybody, for all the disrespect this guy has. I'm going to punish him for long minutes," says dos Anjos via Fox Sports.
