Ana Ivanovic is proud of her newfound dedication to her workouts. Bastian Schweinsteiger will be pleased with the aesthetic results.
The tennis star -- in an attempt to strengthen her injured back -- embarked on a grueling new workout regimen this past offseason. Lunges, sprints and interval training were just a few of the highlights.
Ana Ivanovic Should Help Keep Bastian Schweinsteiger Healthy
"It's the most lunges I've done in my life," Ivanovic said, per Perthnow.com. "In the beginning I was smiling while doing them, but after a while I was trying to hide in corners. After the problems I had last season with my back, I did a lot of prevention work and fitness, I thought that was lacking.
"I am very happy now physically. I've done a lot of strength work in the gym to protect my back, and to be lower in the court. I am a tall girl, so it's not easy to get low. So I did lunges, some interval training, sprints, and lots of two-on-one games with two guys so it was a more intense set-up. I really feel that was good for me."

Her efforts did not go unnoticed.
Cover spreads aside, Ivanovic has other goals in mind for 2016.
"I have won one [Grand Slam] and also been World No.1,” she said, per Australian Open. “But at the end of the day, people remember you for the titles you won, not so much your ranking.
“Any Grand Slam would be great, but I would like to win the Australian Open and Wimbledon."
Her first chance to do so will come Jan. 18 at Melbourne Park.
