The college season is officially over, and Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry, who is also a newly-minted NCAA champion, has nothing left to accomplish in the college game. Henry, a 2,000-yard rusher, will be highly sought-after in the draft.
Here are the three teams that need him the most.
Top Three NFL Landing Spots For Nick Saban
Dallas Cowboys, No. 4 Pick
Who knows if the Cowboys would spend a No. 4 overall pick on a running back one year after Darren McFadden churned out a 1,000-yard season, but with Dallas’ offensive line Henry could be a star right away.
Henry rushed for more than 2,000 yards this season for the Crimson Tide, and he scored 25 touchdowns. Trent Richardson was certainly an epic bust out of Alabama, but Mark Ingram – the last Tide RB to win the Heisman – is integral to the Saints, and Eddie Lacy has made his mark with the Packers.

The fit is obvious, but the Cowboys may address other needs with a Top 5 pick.
New York Giants, No. 10 Pick
The Giants are unlikely to spend a Top 10 on a running back, but few teams need one as much as the Giants. They rotated through four mostly ineffective backs all season, and developed an overreliance on Eli Manning passing to Odell Beckham Jr.
Henry would not only establish a more competent running game in the Meadowlands, he forces defenses to game plan for another playmaker.
Detroit Lions, No. 16 Pick
The Lions have Joique Bell on the roster, and drafted Ameer Abdullah in the second round last year, but Henry is on another level as a prospect. Joique Bell isn’t getting any younger, and his ceiling has already been hit. Abdullah showed promise as an explosive player, but he didn’t offer any consistency whatsoever.
Bringing in Henry allows them to either rid themselves of Bell or keep him as an insurance policy, while establishing a thunder-and-lightning combo that has some longevity. It may be especially important if Calvin Johnson retires.
