Dallas Cowboys Rumors: 3 Fixes Jerry Jones Must Make For 2016 [VIDEO]

The Cowboys’ 2015 season was one of the most disappointing in franchise history, not only because they can finish with, at most, five wins, but because they sank in one of the worst divisions in recent memory.

Dallas isn’t far off from the top of the NFC East, however. Here are three fixes Jerry Jones needs to make that will put America’s Team back on top.

Dez Bryant's Almost As Fast As A Horse

1. Spend A High Pick On a WR

Dez Bryant broke his foot in Week 1 and wasn’t the same when he came back. He’s due for more surgeries this offseason, which isn’t great. With all that said, he’s not the reason Dallas should go big on a wide receiver. Bryant will be back, and the Cowboys have committed big money to him injured or not.

Assuming he’s the old Bryant when he’s back, he’s still just one man. Terrance Williams has emphatically answered the question of whether or not he’s a legitimate No. 2 WR. He’s not. Cole Beasley, despite being slight and white, is not Wes Welker. Jason Witten, contrary to popular belief, is not ageless.

Jerry Jones Probably Regrets Releasing Brandon Weeden

Tony Romo being out hurt, but even when he’s there, this offense doesn’t have many weapons.

2. Get A Cornerback

Brandon Carr is turning 30 soon, and Morris Claiborne, largely a disappointment in the NFL, is a free agent who will nonetheless be overpaid because he’s a CB with pedigree. Dallas’ defense is bad – and their run defense was a bigger issue than their pass D per Football Outsiders – but that had a lot to do with injuries and an early suspension to Rolando McClain. Their secondary doesn’t let them get stops, and that has to change, either through free agency or the draft.

3. Add RB Depth

They’ve gotten a full year of health from Darren McFadden, a bright spot for Dallas in 2015. They can not count on that again, or go into next year with Robert Turbin as the primary backup for a team that relies so heavily on the run.

They can spend a mid-round pick or two on some running backs, or try and sang one off the free agent scrap heap. But somehow they must add quality depth behind McFadden.
