Russell Wilson, Ciara Relationship Update: Seahawks QB Wants A World Where Nobody Has Sex Before Marriage [POLL, VIDEO]

Russell Wilson is taking one for the team.

The Seahawks quarterback is on the top of his game, is making millions of dollars and is currently dating gorgeous R&B singer Ciara. It's safe to say life is good for Wilson, but he isn't content with all he has, he wants to set an example.

Ciara's Cold Feet Are Delaying Russell Wilson Engagement

It's no secret that the Seattle signal caller and his musically inclined girlfriend are staying celibate until marriage. It had always been assumed that Wilson's religious beliefs are what have kept them from the bedroom.

The faith the couple shares plays a huge role in their decision, but it's also Wilson's desire to be an example for other Christians, whom he hopes will follow down his path, that pushes his beliefs, according to an article in ESPN The Magazine.

Seahawks Fans Rightfully Apologize To Ciara, Russell Wilson

"He prays to be able to lead," the article reads. "Wilson has said he wants to lead the fans and be a light unto the rest of the NFL. He's said he wants to lead his girlfriend, the R&B star Ciara, and make his relationship a celibate example for other Christians."

Leading a football team on fall Sundays is hectic enough, but now Wilson is trying to dream up a sexless world where the act of making love is used solely for procreation. What seems like it would be an even bigger hurdle is the fact that Ciara has had sex prior to meeting Wilson, as she has a child with rapper Future.

The former Super Bowl champion has opted to try and leap over such hurdles and he told his pastor, Pastor Miles McPherson, at the Rock Church that he always believed he'd meet and be with Ciara.

Wilson said he knew all along he'd end up with the singer, even before the relationship began. He also said that God told him he's responsible for leading the "Dance Like We're Making Love" singer into their celibate life together.

It appears Ciara, who is also a believer, is on-board with the quarterback's ideology of not having sex.

"He has anointed both of us," Wilson told Pastor Miles, according to the piece. "He has called us to do something miraculous, something special."

Now, Wilson is looking to share that special something with the rest of the world.
