Michael Vick Injury Update [VIDEO]: Eagles QB To Miss Sunday's Week 6 Game Against Bucs, And More?

The good news for the Philadelphia Eagles is that their backup quarterback helped lead them to a Week 5 victory over the flailing Giants, but the bad news is Michael Vick, who injured his hamstring during that game, is likely to miss the team's Week 6 matchup against the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers and he may miss the following week's game against the division rival Dallas Cowboys as well.

CBS Sports reports that Philadelphia coach Chip Kelly said Vick is day-to-day and he wasn't going to name the Week 6 starter or give a definitive answer on Vick's status for Week 6, but ESPN later confirmed that Vick will most likely miss at least the game against the Buccaneers and possibly the following game against Dallas if his hamstring doesn't improve.

Vick appeared to tweak his hamstring when he ran out of bounds during Sunday's victory against the Giants, and he walked gingerly after the play. Kelly said he thought Vick could have stayed in, but he took him out as a precaution. Now it seems as though Vick may not play at all this Sunday.

"He wasn't 100 percent," Kelly said, according to ESPN. "He didn't look like he was moving well. He didn't have that step to get out of the way. I have a lot of confidence in Nick. If Nick were to go down, I think Mike could have gone back in."

Vick has missed 12 games due to injury since joining the Eagles back in 2010, and this latest setback looks as though it's going to add to that count. Vick left Sunday's eventual 36-21 win over the Giants in New York due to a hamstring injury in the second quarter with the Eagles up 16-7 at the time of his departure. Vick had thrown for 105 yards and ran for 79 before he was lifted from the game.

Vick was upset that he had to endure yet another injury.

"It's frustrating," Vick said per ESPN. "I never question why things happen, I never question God. It's a little sore. I've been standing up the last two hours. I need to get treatment. I've had this type of injury before."

Vick has thrown for 1,185 yards this season while going 71-for-132 (53.8%) with five touchdowns and two interceptions. He's also rushed for 307 yards on 33 carries while reaching the end zone twice.

Foles stepped in and looked good in place of Vick, orchestrating four scoring drives in a little over two quarters while throwing for 197 yards and finishing16-for-25 with two touchdowns, with both of his touchdown passes occurring in the fourth quarter.

Foles was selected in the third-round of the 2012 NFL Draft and has started six games for the Eagles, all under former coach Andy Reid. The second-year quarterback is 1-5 in those starts. If he starts, Foles will be opposed by 2013 third-round draft pick Mike Glennon of the Buccaneers (0-5), who took over for the since-departed Josh Freeman.

Foles has appeared in three games this year, and is 19 of 30 (63.3%) for 246 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. In his career, he's appeared in just 10 games, and is 180-for-295 (61.0%) for 1,945 yards with nine touchdowns and five interceptions.

Kelly has said that Foles could potentially land the starting job if Vick misses time and eventually comes back but Foles impresses in his absence.

"If somebody comes in and puts on an unbelievable performance, you have to take it all into account," Kelly told ESPN "If Nick plays this week and does an outstanding job, that will be great for everybody,"

While Foles lost the starting job to Vick out of training camp and a long-term injury to Vick could hurt the Eagles, perhaps it's just the opportunity that Foles needed to get another shot.
