Lewis Hamilton is excited about the prospects of NASCAR. For the sake of the sport, his prospects need to come to fruition.
Appearing on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," the F1 driver let his desire to make the jump to NASCAR be known.

"I love cars in general," Hamilton said. "I went to watch Jeff Gordon just recently in Miami, his last race. When I was there ... I never really go to races to watch. I'm always driving. So I was sitting there and I was like, 'Where's my car?' I just wanted to get out."
When pressed by Kimmel if racing in NASCAR is something he'd consider, Hamilton added: "I would love to do it."

For the sake of diversity, so would the urban community.
As groundbreaking as Danica Patrick's jump to NASCAR was -- 37 percent of NASCAR's audience is now made up of women -- it did little to diversify the sport. NASCAR has the highest share of Caucasians that watch the sport than any other U.S. sport at 94 percent, per the Atlantic.
Even the PGA Tour -- which can champion what's left of Tiger Woods -- can manage a seven percent share.
Hamilton would go a long way in rectifying the demographics. Maybe then NASCAR would feel inclusive.
