As John Cena continues to work his way back from surgery for a distended elbow and a triceps injury, reports indicate that talks in the locker room backstage are revealing that Cena's rehab is going well and he will return to the road in November overseas non-wrestling capacity.
While rumors circulated that Cena may wrestle at the WWE's European tour in November after only being advertised for a "special appearance," they grew even stronger after Cena updated his Twitter account saying he was determined to make a quicker comeback and return to the squared circle "stronger than ever." When the WWE started advertising the Cenation leader for some December dates in the Northeastern part of America, speculation that he'd return to the squared circle continued to expand.
Though Cena has been out since August and is scheduled to miss at least four-to-six months while rehabbing the surgery on his arm, he's been gaining plenty of attention outside of the ring due to his girlfriend Nikki Bella being featured on E! Networks' Total Divas show.
Cena's most rumored return date was for the WWE's 2014 Royal Rumble pay-per-view event this January. However, with Cena's rapid rehab and his road to recovery looking to be even sooner than that, it was reported that perhaps Cena would be mixing it up in the ring in November or December.
WrestlingInc.com reports that though Cena could possibly be ready before his slated return at the end of January, the WWE isn't prepared to take any chances with their top drawing Superstar. Cena's advertised "special appearances" are just that, as he will appear and talk to the crowd, but he will not be wrestling in November overseas or in December through the Northeast because the WWE wants to make sure he's 100 percent for his return at the Royal Rumble and the company doesn't want to take a gamble with the face of the WWE.
WWE doesn't want to take any chances with the Royal Rumble being its first stop on the road to WrestleMania XXX in New Orleans, and the executives behind the scenes don't want to risk losing Cena for its busiest and most important time of year by rushing him back. Though Cena is dying to return and misses the road as his Twitter account indicates, the WWE would never risk rushing him back.

WWE can't take a chance with bringing Cena back too soon and then having him further extend his injury and need to miss more time, especially with the RAW ratings being so low in Cena's absence.
WrestlingInc.com reported that last Monday's episode of Monday Night RAW netted the show's worst ratings in 15 years with a 2.68 cable rating and an average of 3.58 million viewers over the course of the show. Despite the low ratings and the fact that Cena returning would probably boost them significantly, the WWE isn't willing to take a gamble and lose Cena for even more episodes of RAW during the most important stretch for the company between late January and early April.
While some fans relish in the fact that Cena is gone and others are clamoring for his return, WWE will not take a chance on rushing him back to television, even when their ratings are in dire need of a lift.
