No athlete made more money than Floyd Mayweather Jr. this year, but the retiring pound-for-pound king of boxing needs to make sure he doesn’t blow all his funds. Mayweather, who is often very busy on Instagram, posted a pic of his new pet. This guy is sure to burn a hole in his wallet.
The man nicknamed “Money” didn’t buy this bad girl, as he stated in his post, but we’ve seen rich boxers own tigers before. “Iron” Mike Tyson, the former “Baddest Man On The Planet,” at one point had three tigers, which reportedly cost $4,000 a month each to maintain. That seems like a drop in the bucket for a man who made $300 million in 2015 alone, but stranger things have happened than retired athletes running out of cash.
Mayweather Blames The Media For Ronda Rousey's Fall From Grace
Mayweather lives an extravagant lifestyle in Las Vegas, and is known to be a high-stakes gambler. He has taken some steps to solidify himself post-boxing, finally inking a few endorsement deals. Mayweather is now affiliated with Hublot, FanDuel, and Burger King, and pulled in $15 million in endorsements in 2015, according to Forbes.
Hopefully the world is never subjected to another Hangover movie, but if someone resurrects the franchise for another go-round, expect “Money” Mayweather to make a cameo, slugging Zach Galifianakis in the face.
