Charlotte WWE Rumors: WWE Relying Too Much On Diva's Family For Her To Get Over With Fans [VIDEO]

Charlotte is the WWE Divas Champion, but until the company learns to let her breathe on her own, it's going to be difficult for her to get over.

The second-generation wrestler showed in NXT that she has a natural feel for the business and can put on a good match. The problem now is, the WWE needs to allow her to step out from underneath her father's shadow.

Yes, Charlotte's dad is Ric Flair, arguably the greatest wrestler of all-time. No, the WWE doesn't have to constantly remind its audience of that.

Ever since Charlotte broke into the company, the WWE has hammered the point home of who she is, or more specifically, who her father is. Even when the Diva talked about trying to make it on her own, the creative team counteracted by constantly shoving her family history down the collective throats of the WWE Universe.

Best WWE Stables Of All Time

It's fine for the WWE to acknowledge who she is, it would be silly not to. It's a whole different ballgame when it's all they want to talk about.

The problem isn't even with her entrance music being a new take on her father's old ring song or her Figure Eight being an expansion of her dad's Figure Four submission hold. Those are both good things that distinguish who she is.

But when Charlotte sits down with Michael Cole and gets emotional while saying she's looking to prove she's not just in this business because of her father, the WWE creative team continues to do her no favors. Take her feud with Paige, which is her first main rivalry since unseating Nikki Bella as Divas Champion and settling the score with her.

First, the WWE did the tasteless act of having Paige bring up Charlotte's brother Reid, who passed away due to a drug overdose in 2013. Then, this past week on RAW, when Charlotte came out, her father was at her side for no real reason. It's one thing for the 16-time Heavyweight Champion to support his daughter in a big match, but a random unannounced friendly clash with Becky Lynch? Unnecessary.

It was a nice touch seeing Charlotte cheat to score a win like her father famously did, but ultimately, it wasn't necessary for a random contest. The WWE needs to start letting Charlotte get naturally over with the crowd.

Reminding the WWE Universe of what they already know about Charlotte's background is unnecessary. She's Ric Flair's daughter, it's time to move further into something else.
