Ohio State Football Rumors: Urban Meyer Ruined J.T. Barrett, Cardale Jones' Draft Stock [VIDEO]

Cardale Jones and J.T. Barrett were projected to turn NFL heads in 2015, but Urban Meyer had other plans.

An NFL scout revealed to NFL.com that the best options under center in 2016's NFL Draft won't hail from the Buckeye state.

"I'd hate to be a team in need of a quarterback," the NFC scout said. "The best two in this draft might end up being from Memphis and North Dakota State and that ought to scare the [expletive] out of you.

"It takes some courage to turn that card in."

J.T. Barrett Will Lose More Than Financial Aid Following Arrest

Obviously, the two QBs being referred to are Carson Wentz (North Dakota State) and Paxton Lynch (Memphis).

There's no mention of Barrett -- and certainly not Jones -- and much of that has to do with Meyer's utilization of the two.

Much to their dismay, the two split nearly equal time under center this season. Barrett -- who's started each of the last three games -- is completing 63.8 percent of his passes for 781 yards and 10 TDs. Jones, by comparison, is completing just 62.5 percent of his passes for 1,460 yards and eight TDs.

This after both were adamantly against a two-QB system in the offseason.

"I don't think it would be as efficient [a system]," Barrett told ESPN's Austin Ward.

"Only one of us can play," Jones added.

Now -- at least according to one NFL scout -- neither will be looked at to play at the next level in 2016.
