Today at 4:25 p.m. ET, the Philadelphia Eagles (1-2) take on the unbeaten Denver Broncos (3-0) at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver. The game can be live streamed here. Eagles fans can listen to all the action on SportsRadio 94WIP while Broncos fans can do the same at 850 KOA.
Peyton Manning is off to the best start of his career while the Broncos are off to their best start since 2009 and can make history by tying the franchise's record for most consecutive regular-season wins with 15 if the team can take down the Eagles. A win will tie them for the ninth-longest streak of all time, but they still fall short of the 23 in a row that Manning led the Indianapolis Colts to from 2008-09.
This season, Manning has a completion percentage of 73 while throwing for 1,143 yards with 12 touchdowns and no interceptions.
"We get to play with one of the greatest quarterbacks and football players to ever play the game," tight end Julius Thomas told ESPN. "He's great. There's no other way to cut it up or slice it."
Manning's 134.7 quarterback rating currently leads the NFL and his 12 passing touchdowns through three games is a record. Manning has looked his best throughout the first three weeks, but the Eagles are up to the challenge.
"It's a huge challenge," Eagles coach Chip Kelly said per ESPN. "He's one of the all-time great quarterbacks in the history of the league, not just this season, he's done it for such a long time. He prides himself on his preparation. I think if you're a competitor, you're looking forward to it."
The Eagles will counter with Michael Vick, who has a completion percentage of 56 with five touchdowns and two interceptions while throwing for 832 yards. Vick has also rushed for 187 yards on 18 carries with two touchdowns in Kelly's high-powered offense.
Demaryius Thomas leads the Broncos with 20 receptions for 307 yards with two touchdowns while Wes Welker and Julius Thomas each have four touchdown receptions so far this season. Welker has 19 receptions for 190 yards while Julius Thomas has 14 receptions for 194 yards.
The Eagles have the top rushing yards in the league with 627 total yards. LeSean McCoy leads the league with 395 rushing yards on 62 carries with two touchdowns.
While the Eagles rushing game has been great, its defense will have to step up and stop the passing threat from Manning.
"Pass defense is everybody," Kelly said. "It's generating the pass rush, not letting the quarterback feel comfortable, being close in coverage. It's a combination of all those things."
Vick will also have to do better after going 13-for-30 last week for 201 yards and a touchdown while also throwing his first two interceptions of the year in a 26-16 home loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Can Chip Kelly's defense stop Peyton Manning? It will all be known when these two teams square off against each other today.
