Sacramento Kings Rumors: Nancy Lieberman, John Calipari Possible Successors If George Karl Fired [VIDEO]

The Kings may have two coaches in mind to replace enigmatic George Karl

Sscramento is going to fire Karl -- the question is when, not if -- according to Bleacher Report's Ric Bucher. A couple of interesting names could be in line when that happens: current Kentucky coach John Calipari and current Kings assistant Nancy Lieberman.

Vlade Divac Hurts His Own Position By Enabling DeMarcus Cousins

"If that should happen during this season, the short-term answers are, according to owner Vivek Ranadivé -- or sources say -- he would like to move Nancy Lieberman into the head-coaching position, making a big splash by having the first female head coach in NBA history. Vlade Divac, the GM is more inclined to fill with Corliss Williamson for the remainder of the season.

"But Ranadivé's biggest dream is to have Kentucky coach John Calipari come out and coach this roster full of Kentucky players.

"The belief is that Ranadivé will take another run after Calipari plans to make an offer that Calipari simply cannot refuse."

Rajon Rondo Says Comments About Arguing With Coach George Karl Were "A Joke"

A short time after Bucher's report, a source denied that the Kings intend to back up a Brinks truck in front of Calipari's house, according to Pro Basketball Talk.

"A league source with knowledge of the situation insists to Pro Basketball Talk there is no validity to the claims the Kings will make a huge offer to Calipari next summer. ... Calipari is not someone the organization has discussed."

Pro Basketball Talk noted, however, that Bucher was the first to correctly predict that Sacramento would hire Michael Malone as its coach in 2013. If he is correct now, it poses an interesting scenario.

First, what if Lieberman takes over and the Kings take off? How would Ranadivé possibly replace her with Calipari.

And if Calipari says no to any Kings overtures, it might be a clear indication that the coach never is coming back to the NBA.
