Derek Jeter, 50 Cent Beef: Why Curtis Jackson Will Be Rocking Mets Hats From Now On [VIDEO]

50 Cent has been the master of rap beefs since he burst onto the music scene in the early 2000s, and more than a decade later he still has a penchant for starting trouble. Or, in this case, furthering it.

50 was chosen to be the front man for Frigo underwear, only to be stunned when former Yankees captain Derek Jeter withdrew from his own deal to promote the brand, per TMZ. Rumor has it that Jeter, who is bi-racial, believed 50 Cent’s association would take the brand in a direction that was “too urban.”

Frigo owner Mathias Ingvarsson said Jeter’s last-minute ditching of the brand cost the company $30 million, and he is seeking $4.7 million from Captain Clutch to smooth things over. Jeter’s involvement has been rocky since the outset, TMZ reported. He signed a three-year contract to be a director of the company and be a public face, but in 2013 he didn’t want to be publicized during their U.S. launch. That’s when Jeter left Frigo high and dry.

50 Cent had some words for the ex-Yankee, and fans shouldn’t be expecting him to rock that iconic interlocking NY anymore.

"Wow, guess I'm not a Yankees fan anymore. LETS GO METS? Man you can't trust nobody these day.smh."

Maybe 50 was just paying attention to the World Series this year and is using his undies line as an excuse to be a fair weather fan.
