Paige WWE Rumors: Creative Team Takes Two-Time Divas Champion's Character Change Too Far [POLL, VIDEO]

The WWE closed out the go-home edition of Monday Night RAW for Survivor Series with a Divas segment and it has generated a lot of buzz -- not all of which is positive.

Charlotte is set to defend her WWE Divas Championship against Paige this Sunday at the Philips Arena in Atlanta and the official contract signing for the match took place on the flagship show. That's when things took a very dark turn.

Dean Ambrose Would Make Better Champion Than Roman Reigns

The reigning Divas Champion got emotional and talked about getting into this business due to her father, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, and her brother, the late Reid Flair, who passed away of a drug overdose at a North Carolina hotel in 2013. That's when Paige took things to a next level.

"You know what Charlotte, you're wrong sweetheart," Paige said. "Because your little baby brother, he didn't have much fight in him did he?"

Possible Swerves For WWE Survivor Series

The segment led to a brawl in the ring between the two Divas, but more than that it sparked a huge debate over whether or not the WWE had the Norwich, England native go too far. It's no secret that Paige's acid tongue has gotten her into trouble behind the scenes, but it appears the WWE is now using it as a weapon on-screen as well.

Charlotte's mother, Elizabeth Fliehr, for one, didn't take kindly to Paige's words about her son.

This isn't unprecedented, as the WWE exploited the death of Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero for storyline gain over and over again after he passed away in 2005. Paul Bearer's real life death was also used to build up the match between The Undertaker and CM Punk in 2013 just days after he died.

Still, the WWE is going for more of a PG angle these days and Reid was never a big part of the company like the other two legends. WWE Diva Lana also seemed upset with Paige as the two got into a Twitter war of words after the promo, some of which was deleted afterward.

The company's decision to have Paige drop that latest Pipe Bomb may have been a step too far and may have damaged her image going into the Survivor Series.  The WWE wanted to create a buzz about Paige's heel turn and the Survivor Series match, but at what cost?

People are talking about the segment, but for all the wrong reasons.
