WWE 'Survivor Series' 2015 Rumors: 5 Possible Swerves For November Classic [VIDEO]

The WWE Survivor Series is traditionally synonymous with two things: Thanksgiving and swerves.

Since its inception in 1987, the November Classic has been the WWE's Thanksgiving Week tradition, but the holiday hasn't gone smoothly for everyone throughout the years. The event has provided the backdrop for some memorable character turns and screw jobs in its history.

Booking Decisions The WWE Needs To Implement To Make Survivor Series Classic

In 1988, Demolition and the Powers of Pain pulled off the very rare double switch where both teams switched their alignments, with Demolition turning babyface and the POP becoming villains. In 1997, Bret Hart was screwed by Vince McMahon in real life during his match against Shawn Michaels. A year later, The Rock shocked the world by turning heel, leading to him skyrocketing to the top of the company as its champion.

While the event has mellowed throughout the years, the surprises never seem to stop. In 2012, The Shield made its debut. In 2014, it was Sting walking into a WWE ring for the very first time. What does the WWE have in store this year? Here are five potential swerves.

Best Survivor Series Teams Of All Time

1) Authority Reigns

It appears fairly obvious that Roman Reigns is set to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship unless a major change in direction seemingly comes out of nowhere. With Seth Rollins hurt, Triple H and The Authority need a new Superstar to back, and that could come in the form of a Reigns heel turn just as his cousin, The Rock, did in '98 when he joined Vince McMahon's corporation.

2) Dirty Deeds

The WWE could pull a different swerve by having another former Shield member do the turn instead. Things could change in an instant, but it appears Dean Ambrose is set for a finals match against his former stablemate Reigns at the Survivor Series. The WWE could drop a major bombshell if the "Lunatic Fringe" becomes a villain.

3) Stinging Surprise

"The Vigilante" hasn't been seen since Night of Champions when he got hurt against Seth Rollins, but if the WWE wants to make things interesting, he could make a surprising return at the same event at which he made his debut a year ago. Sting could help The Undertaker and Kane in their battle with the Wyatt Family, or possibly set up a clash with the "Deadman" at WrestleMania.

4) Irish Curse

The WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament could be all for not. Sheamus has owned the Money in the Bank briefcase since June and was surprisingly dumped out of the winner-take-all bracket in the first round. Don't be surprised if the new champion's reign is short-lived as "The Celtic Warrior" could cash in the briefcase to win the gold.

5) Dazzling Debut

Another thing that the Survivor Series has been known for throughout the years is astonishing debuts. The Undertaker is celebrating his 25th anniversary with the company next Sunday after making his debut at the November Classic in 1990. The Rock's first WWE appearance came at this event in 1996 at Madison Square Garden while The Shield (2012) and Sting (2014) also first appeared at Survivor Series. There could be another debut this year, and NXT Champion Finn Balor teased a possible role.
