Newly acquired Detroit Pistons guard Brandon Jennings and rap star The Game recently engaged in a late night scuffle at a Los Angeles nightclub that reportedly ended with Jennings being punched in the mouth, HipHollywood.com. is reporting.
According to the website, the two men, both L.A. natives, were inside the nightclub when they had words over who could use the deejay's microphone. HipHollywood added Jennings was at the club celebrating his birthday with friends and Game regularly hangs out there.
With Game already reportedly angry over what he perceived as Jennings' hogging of the microphone, witnesses told HipHollywood the rapper tried to have words with the NBA star and things quickly escalated. "Game tried to have words with him, and it just escalated and Game hit Brandon in the mouth," another witness told the website.
The fracas was quickly broken up by security, which allowed both men and their entourages to remain at the club. Not long after another fight broke out between the two posses and management elected to shut down the club.
The Pistons acquired Jennings from the Milwaukee Bucks in a sign-and-trade that netted the 24-year-old, veteran guard a new three-year deal worth more than $25 million and shipped guard Brandon Knight to Milwaukee.
In Detroit, Jennings joins a young core that includes Greg Monroe, Andre Drummond and Josh Smith.
