Georges St-Pierre Rumors: GSP Training For 'Super Fight,' Not UFC Title [VIDEO]

Georges St-Pierre, one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all-time, is preparing for a comeback according to famed boxing trainer Freddie Roach.

St-Pierre has been spending time at Roach’s WildCard gym, where renowned boxers Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto train, and Roach said St-Pierre is going to embark on a six-week process that will determine whether he returns to the Octagon or not.
So we came up with a process. He's going to train for a fight. He's going to have a six-week training camp," Roach told Fight Hub. "And at the end of the six weeks, if he feels like he's ready to fight, and he's hungry for it like he always has been, he's going to do it. He going to fight one more time,” Roach said.

Dana White Incensed By GSP-Hendricks Split Decision

St-Pierre has not fought since November of 2013, when he won a controversial split decision over Johny Hendricks to retain his welterweight title. The decision was widely panned, and St-Pierre took an indefinite leave from the UFC. His comments immediately after fighting Hendricks were dark.

"I can't sleep at night now, I have issues. I am going crazy. I need to make a point, man. I need to get out for awhile. i don't know what I'm going to do. I feel like I am going to let everything out now, but I need to keep some things personal. I give everything I have tonight. Like it, love it, I give everything, that's all I can say."

Ranking UFC's Options For Jon Jones Comeback

If GSP returns, his teammate Rory MacDonald said he will aim for a big-money super fight, rather than a welterweight title shot. "From what we've talked about, he's not coming back for the belt," MacDonald said. "He's coming back for the odd fight I think that interests him.”

That might have a lot to do with MacDonald being the top-ranked welterweight behind champion Robbie Lawler. MacDonald also quickly made a point that there’s no guarantee St-Pierre returns.

"If... If he comes back.... Okay, keep it in your pants," MacDonald said. "I don't know if he's coming back. But as far as I know, if he does I think he's more interested in super-fights and whatnot."
