Kristaps Porzingis News: Knicks Rookie Injured After Tie-Up WIth Carmelo Anthony [VIDEO]

Kristaps Porzingis has been garnering a lot of praise from Knicks fans early in the season, though unfortunately a neck injury may temporarily derail the Latvian rookie's hype train.

Porzingis suffered a neck strain the other night after teammate Carmelo Anthony fell on him. In the same game Porzingis had a huge put-back dunk over LaMarcus Aldridge that sent New York fans and the internet alike absolutely crazy.

Warriors Off To Best Start In NBA History

"He was impressive." Tim Duncan said following the game. "He is a young guy, but his skill set is there."

With Tim Duncan praising the rookie and Porzingis already becoming a fixture of New York sports radio, it's no secret that the young player is keeping the Knicks relevant. But if Porzingis does miss time, will the Knicks lose their early season luster?

Kobe Has Harsh Words For Himself

While Porzingis may be exciting, he is far from the only player that has gotten the Knicks off to a 2-2 start. This team is different than last year, with a healthy Anthony and a big time center in Robin Lopez. As long as the team keeps winning and competing, the Knicks will stay relevant.

With that said the hope is that Porzingis wont miss too much time. Following his 13-point, 14-rebound double double against the Spurs, the 20-year-old said, "It's nothing serious. I think it'll be fine soon."

While the Knicks can stay enjoyable without him, it'll certainly be more fun to see him on the court.
